Right then! That is all we have from this game but the action in the CSA T20 Challenge continues on Thursday, the 10th of February with another double-header. North West Dragons take on the Knights in the first match of the day and that one begins at 1.30 pm IST (8 am GMT). Do join us for the live action then and make sure you tune in early for the build up. Cheers!
The winning skipper, Wayne Parnell, says that they batted really in the Powerplay and they wanted to make full use of it. Tells that Levi is one of the most destructive batters going around and says that he has his team's backing always. Mentions that they have a couple of days off now and they will look to take it game by game.
Mthiwekhaya Nabe is the BOWLER OF THE MATCH! Nabe says that he is happy with his performance today and just tried to bowl full and straight. He adds that they thought they had enough runs on the board but the opening partnership just took the sting out of the chase.
Richard Levi is the BATTER OF THE MATCH. He says that it was one of those days where everything came out well for him in the middle. Adds that it was one of the best wickets to bat on but also had something in it for the bowlers.
Warriors had the runs on the board and all they needed was a decent start with the ball. Forget about a decent start, their bowlers were taken to all parts of the ground by the opposition batters and their spirit was broken very soon. In the middle overs, they did manage to pick up a couple of wickets as Mthiwekhaya Nabe bowled exceptionally well but that was it. No other bowler delivered today and the opposition was able to chase down a record target with 17 balls to spare. Warriors batting was good but they will now look to improve on their bowling and bounce back stronger.
The back of the chase was broken down in the Powerplay itself as Jonathan Bird and Richard Levi in particular hammered the opposition bowlers all over the ground. The pair added 63 runs for the opening wicket in just 28 balls before Levi got out after a fiery knock of 40 runs from just 17 balls. After the tone was set, they strolled through the middle overs. The experienced pair of Dane Vilas and George Linde added on a 66-run stand to seal the game as both batters crossed the 30-run mark as well. All in all, it was a breezy chase from Western Province and they will be happy with this performance.
What a chase this has been from Western Province! They have chased down a record target and have just cruised through to another win to make it two out of two. Warriors have been humbled here by the opposition batters and have a lot to ponder upon as a bowling unit after being on the receiving end of that carnage.

DROPPED! That quite sums up the day for Warriors! A length ball, around middle. George Linde looks to heave it away but it goes off the inner half of the blade straight to the man at mid-wicket who moves late to his right and puts it down. The batters cross for a single. Western Province win the match by 7 wickets!

On a length, around middle. Dane Vilas nudges it to the leg side and takes a single. The fielder at mid-wicket has a needless shy at the bowler's end but he misses and the batters take one more run. The scores are now level.
