Alex Hales is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH (59 runs off 29 balls). He says he is very pleased with the performance of his team and is happy to get off to a good start. Credits Malan for the way he played and he enjoys batting with him. stats it was a huge game for them and the win was good.
...Stay tuned for the Presentation...
Earlier, the Rockets were off to a superb start with Hales scoring another fifty. Then knocks from Munro and Gregory helped them get past 180. It looked a decent total on the pitch and their bowlers did well to ride the momentum, keeping Invincibles under pump throughout the game.
It was always going to be hard for Oval Invincibles to chase this huge target. Someone had to play a big knock at a high tempo but they failed. There were a couple of partnerships in that innings but none of which promised to take the team over the line. Jordan Cox played a fine innings but it was too little too late to change the result. If Oval Invincibles had a good Powerplay, the results could have been different.
A very convincing victory from the rockets! Right from the opening stand between Hales and Malan and then all the way to the bowlers. It was an excellent outing for the Rockets and they thoroughly deserved to win. The bowlers had ample amount to bowl at and it was the spin duo of Samit Patel and Tabraiz Shamsi that created wonders for Trent Rockets. They were on top before that as well but the spinners created pressure and took three wickets together to stay on top of the game. Wood and Cook were decent as well and Trent Rockets did really well to not give anything away in this game
