That's it from this game! It was quite an exciting contest and on Friday, 18th of August, we have London Spirits going up against Northern Superchargers. It is a double-header with women kicking off super friday at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT) and men counterparts beginning their contest at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT). Do join us for the build-up of both the games. Cheers!
Philip Salt is the Hero of the Match for his brilliant knock of 86 runs off 32 balls. He says that it was a good contest on a good wicket. Adds that both sides played well and it came down to who held their nerves well. Feels that there were areas where they could have done slightly better with both bat and ball. Feels that it has been challenging for top-order batters in this competition. Adds that he is happy to return to form and enjoys playing against his mates. Reckons that it is about peaking at the right time and every team wants to hit their strides at this point.
Trent Rockets, well, they will feel that they gave away way too many runs with the ball at the start of this game. The intital kickstart that Manchester Originals got powered them to a good total and though Daniel Sams and Lewis Gregory bowled well at the backend, it was always going to be a tough chase. Alex Hales departed for a duck but Tom Kohler-Cadmore showed his class at number 3 and found able partners in the form of Root and Munro. At one point in time, when Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Colin Munro both were set, the target looked well within their sights but both Munro and Tom Kohler-Cadmore departed in quick succession and that proved costly. Tom Kohler-Cadmore scored 64 off 42 balls and Sams tried his best in the end but Trent Rockets have lost the game by 10 runs in the end.
A lot of credit for this Manchester Originals win has to go to Philip Salt for his breathtaking knock in the first innings. He smashed 86 off 32 balls and his knock proved to be decisive as other batters could not match his antics. Manchester had 181 on the board and then Josh Tongue got them off to a perfect start with a big wicket of Alex Hales. Walter then got rid of Root when the partnership between Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Root was brewing up. However, Trent Rockets were still in the hunt with Colin Munro joining Tom Kohler-Cadmore and it was the two-wicket set of Josh Tongue where he got both Munro and Tom Kohler-Cadmore that brought Manchester well ahead in the game. Paul Walter then finished things off in the end with brilliant display of death bowling while Jamie Overton too was quite good with his three economical sets.
A hard-fought win for Manchester Originals but a very important one and this win over the home side, Trent Rockets is a big boost to their topsy-turvy campaign so far. Trent Rockets were in the game till the last set but Manchester Originals managed to win important moments in the game and have notched up crucial points in the end.

OUT! CAUGHT! Paul Walter gets his second wicket! Slower delivery, short and around off, Daniel Sams tries to go down the ground with a flat bat. Skies it high in the air towards point where Ashton Turner takes the simplest of catches. Manchester Originals win by 10 runs!

Pace on and into the wicket, on off, Daniel Sams slaps it towards extra cover and gets across for a single.
Manchester Originals need to bring a fielder inside the circle. They have missed the cut off time and this can prove costly for Manchester Originals!
