Right then! The action continues in the Hundred, 2022. The action moves to Cardiff as Welsh Fire will take on Oval Invincibles on 7th August at 6.30 pm IST (1 pm GMT). Do join us for the build up. Adios!
Lewis Gregory, the skipper of Trent Rockets says it was a great performance. Applauds the performance of Samit Patel and Alex Hales. Admits the match got trickier as it went on. Shares they know this ground well and know how to win games here. Goes on to applaud the performance of Joe Root. Whatever format, colour of the ball, he scores runs. Ends by thanking the fans for the support.
Alex Hales is the Player of the Match. He says he struggled a bit as the pitch was on the slower side. He took some time as Munro was playing really well. Adds that they thought the pitch was about par but the outfield is quick and the boundaries are small. Shares that it is good to have the crowd back. Tells that Dawid Malan gave them a good start. Root played really well. He did well to score boundaries and keep rotating the strike.
Stay tuned for the Presentation...
Earlier in the day, after being inserted, Birmingham Phoenix got themselves to a decent score on what seemed a slow wicket thanks to Liam Livingstone but it was comfortably chased down as Alex Hales was in top form on his home ground.
The bowling was good but not sure if the bowling changes were on point from Moeen Ali. Twice he gave the ball to Graeme van Buuren and not sure if both were the right time to give to him and it is those two overs which probably released the pressure and also cost them the game. Also, he will be disappointed with how Imran Tahir bowled on this wicket as he was quite expensive. It was just not a good day in the field for them.
A very comfortable chase in the end for the Rockets! The key was they just never panicked. Targeted the bowlers they needed to and have done it quite easily! The start was not the best for them though as they lost Dawid Malan early but Colin Munro counter-attacked and got the chase back under control. Munro fell but Joe Root and Alex Hales played brilliantly. They took their time but when mattered, found the boundaries. Hales was the star with the bat and Root played as the perfect foil.

OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Tom Helm holds onto it. On a length, slower and on middle. Hales heaves across and tries to finish it but mistimes it completely. The ball goes high in the air and to the right of Helm who thinks mid-wicket will take but the fielder there watches Helm. Helm had to rush across quickly to take the skier.
