The second game is between Welsh Fire and Birmingham Phoenix and it will start at 10.30 pm IST (5 pm GMT). Our build-up for both games will begin in advance. So do join us for the same. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
James Vince, the skipper of Southern Brave says that 148 was around about par and there are a few balls they would like to have back. Says but overall the bowlers did a good job. Mentions that they got off to a poor start in the chase the guys in the end gave them some hope but they fell short. Informs that there have been a lot of injuries in the squad and that has resulted in the change in bowling lineup. This results in changing plans and assigning different roles to bowlers. Says they have chased reasonably high targets in the past and admits they do not have long to get things right but they will work it out and come back stronger. Adds that there is plenty of experience in the top order and Quinton de Kock still needs to get going. Mentions that a good start makes it easier for the batters coming in later. Says the run out was not ideal but says they know there is ability in the lower order as well. Names the several injured players in the squad and says that they need to figure out what they can change in the tournament. Admits that from now on all are must win games and they are looking forward to the challenge.
Eoin Morgan, the skipper of London Spirit says that he is really proud of his team. Feels that the score they put up was under par, but it was not easy to go out and bat. Says it was important to get settled in and build good partnerships. When asked about his captaincy he says that it is about winning and over time experience comes in to play. Credits the bowlers for executing the plans well. Says the spinners did good whenever they were asked to bowl at whichever phase of the game and pacers did well when they came on. Admits it was a poor decision at the toss but it worked out well. Says that kept falling short chasing last year, and wanted to change things up by batting first. Claims that they have recruited well and is happy to see the bowling do well for 100 balls. Says it is difficult to see batters or bowlers do well all through the innings but says the bowlers managed it. Say the pitch helps the bolwers that take pace off and the bowlers he had at his disposal are good at it. Goes on to claim that they don’t like small talk and all conversations happen in the nets or in practice which allows them to switch off when they are not playing.  Says he enjoys playing and we will ride this result. Informs that they will try to stick to process and will see where it take them.
Daniel Bell-Drummond is the HERO OF THE MATCH for his crucial fifty. He says that the wicket was a little bit two paced and once they got in, it got much easier. Says that because the way Maxwell was playing he was able to get himself in and accelerate later. Admits that it has been a great start winning three from three and says they need to continue playing well till the end.
Time for some interviews...
Southern Brave would have been disappointed with how they went about their business with the bat. They had a strong batting line-up but both of their destructive openers departed early and that put some pressure on the middle order. Davies did play a decent knock but could not score at the rate his team needed him to. However, the partnership between Ross Whiteley and Fuller brought Southern Brave back in the chase but once Ross Whiteley departed on the 86th ball, the match got out of their hands.
Southern Brave did well with the ball early in the game to restrict London Spirit to under 150 on a tricky pitch. Hogan, Fuller and Jordan at the death were brilliant but London Spirit had a decent score on the board to make a match out of this. Daniel Bell-Drummond was brilliant and scored a vital fifty and that provided Spirit with some chance going into the second half. They had defended successfully in the last two games and with the kind Morgan leading the troops, it is always difficult for the opposition teams. Maxwell set the tone with a wicket off the first delivery and then all other bowlers stuck to the plan with wickets falling at regular intervals. They managed to take the required rate quite high in the end and that meant that even a late charge by Southern Brave batters was enough to take them over the line.
London Spirit have defended yet another target successfully, this time they have done it against the defending champions, Southern Brave! They were the wooden spoon holders in the last season but have made a statement here with three consecutive wins in their first three games.

OUT! CAUGHT! James Fuller departs in search for a maximum! Jordan Thompson bangs this one in short and wide outside off, James Fuller slashes hard at it and the ball flies towards the boundary! The crowd gets excited but unfortunately for them the ball lands straight into the palms of the deep point fielder. Zak Crawley takes another easy catch and Southern Brave now need two sixes in two deliveries to win.
