Right then, that's it from this game but the action continues in The Hundred, 2023. The Trent Rockets will take on the Manchester Originals at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The Women's game will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2.00 pm GMT) while the Men's fixture shall start at 11.00 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT). But as you all know, you can join us early for the build up. Until then, take care and cheers!
Tymal Mills is the Hero of the Match for his stunning bowling performance. He starts by saying that they need to keep winning. Adds that they started off slowly but is happy to win two games in a row. Feels that it is a big win and adds that they assessed the conditions well. Reckons that it was important to take the pace off on this wicket. Shares that looking at the wicket, they played an extra spinner in Colin Ackermann which worked well. States that it feels proud as a bowling team. On Chris Jordan, he says that Jordan takes the pressure off him and is a big leader in the team. Ends by saying that he is enjoying his game and wants to take every game as it comes.
Time for Presentations...
Earlier in the game, Birmingham Phoenix struggled their way to 119 for 8. Will Smeed and Ben Duckett got their team off to a fast start but spinners put the brakes on and kept picking wickets regularly. None of the batters got past thirty runs and the visitors were kept to a below par total. Southern Brave were clinical with the ball through the innings. Tymal Mills provided the first breakthrough and ended with figures of 3 for 20 in his set. Rehan Ahmed was brilliant too picking 3 for 22. Colin Ackermann and Chris Jordan chipped in with one each while Craig Overton bowled a tight spell to complete an all round effort with the ball by the home side.
The spinners did a fairly decent job with the ball for Birmingham Phoenix on this slow wicket. Tanveer Sangha was the best bowler with 2 for 23 while Moeen Ali, Kane Richardson, Dan Mousley took one apiece. They took the game deep and created some panic in the Southern Brave dressing room but they did have enough runs which led to their downfall. Birmingham Phoenix remain at the bottom of the table and their chance of going further look bleak.
A pretty emphatic win for the Southern Brave in front of their home crowd sees them get to number two in the table. Chasing a paltry 120 for the win, the Brave were off to a fine start courtesy of Finn Allen and Devon Conway. Allen departed for a quick fire 22 off 14 but Conway and Vince carried on and took the Brave into a comfortable position. All the batters got starts but no one made it into a big score. George Garton added impetus to the innings with a quick cameo of 28 off 18 and got the home side closer to the win. Brave lost a few wickets at the backend but they were always in command and got over the line with ease.

Leus du Plooy attemps the reverse sweep again but is pinned in front and this is an easy decision for the onfield umpire.
