That's all from this lopsided contest. On Saturday, it will be Jamaica Tallawahs vs Guyana Amazon Warriors at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT), but you can join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
Dwayne Bravo, the skipper of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, says they made the same mistakes two nights in a row and it's disappointing. Feels as individuals they need to take on more responsibilities. Adds they’ll have to look into this and now look forward to the rest of the games. Credits the way Andre Fletcher has played and says it is good to have a player like him. Reckons it is just a matter of clicking as a unit and he congratulates the Royals for their win. Shares that Evin Lewis should be back for the next game.
David Miller, the captain of Barbados Royals, says it is never an easy game, there is a lot of hard work and credits the boys for the way they played. Mentions the Powerplay was important and the openers of the Royals played brilliantly. Ends by saying it is a long tournament and to start well is a good thing.
Corbin Bosch is the Player of the Match for picking up a wicket, scoring 10 runs and grabbing a record five catches in the match. The South African says he feels great, the team had a really good performance and it is great to get on the board early on. Regarding his catches, Bosch replies that he was just at the right place at the right time. Shares that the last catch he took to dismiss Dwayne Bravo was his favourite. Ends by saying he feels they have a good team and he wants to keep contributing.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Earlier, Barbados Royals held their nerves with the ball after an ordinary Powerplay and made a comeback in the middle phase. Their bowling at the death was very impressive, and it stopped the Patriots from getting close to 175. It's a positive start for them this season and they are looking quite strong.
It was yet another abysmal performance from the defending champions. They were below-par with the bat if you remove Andre Fletcher's knock, and then with the ball, they were flat. As many as four catches went down, taking their tally to 9 in the season already. Also, they were not disciplined with their lines and leaked 15 wides. Dwayne Bravo has his task cut out to motivate his boys and resurrect the campaign.
A walk in the park for Barbados Royals as they open their campaign with an easy win. It was a stiff target for them in this rain-curtailed game, but their openers laid a strong platform, and the job thereafter was easy. Dropped on 10, Rahkeem Cornwall made the Patriots pay for it with his quickfire knock. Not just that, Kyle Mayers also had a reprieve on 7 when Andre Fletcher dropped him, and he went on to score a fine match-winning knock of 73 off 46 balls.

OUT! TAKEN! The two Bravos combine to get rid of Mayers! The opener has done his job though as he has played a match-winning knock! Gets out to a full toss. It is outside off, he hits it hard but flat and straight to Darren Bravo at long off. He makes no mistake.
