So, that is it from this game then! Still a game to go though as Western Province will be locking horns with the Warriors. Do join us for that too. That game begins at 1800 IST (1230 GMT). The build up though begins earlier. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Theunis de Bruyn, the victorious skipper, says they haven’t played T20 cricket in sometime and to see the players step up for the side is very overwhelming to witness. Adds, the opposition kept up with the run rate even with losing wickets at regular intervals. Mentions, there were two chances in the deep, where the players went for the catch and conceded the boundary. This shows the intent of the side, they are not shy of taking risks. Ends by saying he is really happy for his players.
Junior Dala wins the BOWLER OF THE MATCH AWARD. He says, he is really happy to have performed in such a manner. Adds, the other bowlers contributed really well alongside. Says, learning the slower ball variation has helped him a lot to improve his T20 game.
Quinton de Kock wins the BATTER OF THE MATCH AWARD. He says, getting a good start was an important thing. Only aim was to score a decent total at this wicket. Mentions, you have to dig deep and run hard to make the most of it.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
The bowling in the Powerplay was not that great but post that, it was very good. They bowled to their fields and executed the plans well. Shamsi and Aaron Phangiso were really good. Junior Dala, for us was the pick, he got the important wickets and also bowled that excellent penultimate over. Lizaad Williams was not at his best but the others doing a good job covered up. In the end, it is the Titans who kept the nerve and came out on top.
Coming to what happened now, the Malan brothers got their side to the perfect start to gun this down, they were over 50 at the end of the first 6. However, once both fell, runs were tough to come by. Copeland's innings though always kept his side slightly ahead despite wickets falling at the other end. It came down to 19 needed in the last two but two wickets in the penultimate over saw two new batters at the crease with 12 needed which was easily defended.
What a brilliant bowling performance that has been after the Powerplay by the Titans! Rocks on the other hand, will be very disappointed they have not won this game as they were well and truly in control for most of it. Nevertheless, we just witnessed an absolutely brilliant game and the Titans have bagged their first points this season.

OUT! LBW! Junior Dala gets his third. This is brilliant bowling by him. He is keeping his side in the game here. Full length, on middle and leg. Adams comes down and looks to chase it but ends up playing all around it to get hit on his pads. Dala appeals and the umpire raises his finger.
