Sam Curran wins the MAN OF THE MATCH award for his incredible knock of 60 under pressure and a crucial wicket of Faf du Plessis earlier. He says that this was an amazing game. Adds that the competition probably needed a game like this one. He prasies Narine for his incredible spell and also says that Roy changed his bowlers really well. He ends by saying that winning a game like this gives them a lot of confidence.
Stay tuned for the presentation ...
Earlier in the innings, Northern Superchargers were off to a flyer with the blade. Adam Lyth's 79 set a solid foundation for his side, but the rest of the batters failed to capitalize on it. They ended up with 157 on the board, which was going to be a difficult task for their bowlers to defend. Later, the bowlers did give a run for their money but it wasn't enough in the end.
Northern Superchargers fought till the very end but could not get over the line. Their bowlers started really well and put their team right on the driving seat with three wickets inside the Powerplay. They could not maintain the same pressure and leaked aplenty in the middle overs. All the bowlers got into the wicket's column but it was just not their day. Dwayne Bravo stood out with his brace.
Oval Invincibles were in all kinds of trouble from the word go. Their stand-in skipper, Jason Roy departed on a duck. It got worse when they lost two more wickets inside the Powerplay. Luckily for them, the target wasn't a big one which allowed their batters to regroup. Jordan Cox and Sam Curran took their side to safer shore with a match-saving stand of 67 runs. Cox slipped out at 48 while the latter went onto make his half-century. Curran also got good support from Hilton Cartwright. Although they both fell in quick succession. The equation was 19 from the last 10 balls and Tom Curran did not shy away from the task. He managed to get his side over the line with his hard-hitting.
Till the very end, it was very difficult to figure out who will get over the line here. Jason Roy wins his first ever game as a skipper, although he would be a bit disappointed as he could not contibute anything during the chase. Northern Superchargers lose their second game on the trot.

A slower ball, on a length and on off, Danny Briggs works it through mid-wicket for one. 5 runs needed in 5 balls now. This game is not for the faint-hearted.
Danny Briggs walks out at number 9.

OUT! TAKEN! What a catch! It is again that man, Roelof van der Merwe. This is good-length delivery and around off, Jack Haynes drives it uppishly to the right of mid off, Roelof van der Merwe there is early to move to his right. He sticks his right hand out and puts in a dive. The ball sticks in his palms and Roelof van der Merwe ends up taking a blinder here.

SIX! Just what the Invincibles needed. A low full toss and on middle, Tom Curran smokes it over the bowler's head for a maximum. The game is still on says Tom Curran.
