That’s it from this one-sided encounter! On Thursday, 10th of August, we have both women and men brigades of Birmingham Phoenix going up against Welsh Fire. The Women’s game will be played at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT) while the Men’s game will be start at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT). It promises to be another cracking double-header day. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Heinrich Klaasen is the HERO OF THE MATCH. He says that it was a bit tough at the start but once he got set he enjoyed batting. Adds that they had some idea about the wicket as it looked a bit drier and that's why they wanted to bat first. Mentions that their were many good performances and Spencer was brilliant with that incredible spell and he doesn't know why he is not standing here with this award. Ends by saying that he hopes the wickets remains the same for the rest of the tournament.
Manchester Originals, well, they were just completely outclassed in this game. Their bowlers apart from Jamie Overton failed to show any fight and with the bat too, Overton was the only one who scored some runs. Philip Salt and Buttler struggled at the top of the order and the slow start from the openers meant that other batters were under lot of pressure to get going straightaway. They lost their wickets in their bid to do so and have been bundled out for 92 with Jamie Overton scoring 37 runs in it.
Oval Invincibles were without Tom Curran in this game but that hardly made any difference as their batters came out all guns blazing. Roy and Klaasen got fifties while Will Jacks’ fireworks at the start provided the impetus. They ended with 186 on the board which was a good score but for many, not a winning one. However, their bowlers were just too good on the day. The pacers were absolutely brilliant, especially Spencer Johnson and gave away just 19 runs in the Powerplay. Then Narne joined the act with a set of 10 that went for just 6 runs and two wickets and Manchester Originals could never recover from it. Sowter, the other spinner also bowled well and got two wickets while Johnson showed his class at the death with three wickets. Overall, a complete performance from the home side and they would be hoping to build on the confidence gained from this game.
Oval Invincibles have absolutely thrashed Manchester Originals here! This is the biggest win in the history of Men’s Hundred! They were brilliant with the bat and were even better with the ball. The home crowd is delighted and so is the Oval Invincibles camp. Jos Buttler and company, on the other hand, look absolutely gutted and need to forget this game as soon as possible.

OUT! CAUGHT! That's it for the Manchester Originals! Gus Atkinson bangs in a quick short delivery, on middle, Jamie Overton backs away to pull it, but gets hurried and gets a top edge as the ball goes very high in the air towards the short fine leg region where the keeper Sam Billings runs to his left and settles under it to pouch it in his gloves. OVAL INVINCIBLES WIN BY 94 RUNS!

A yorker, outside off. Overton leaves it in a hope that it is a wide. It is not though.

FOUR! Make that three! Jamie Overton is showing some sort of fight here! This is on a good length and outside off, Jamie Overton absolutely slaps it as the ball race wide of long off for four more runs.

In the air...safe! This is full and on off, slower too, Jamie Overton mistimes his lofted shot in the air but it lands well in front of Jason Roy who runs in from long off but fails to reach it.
