Right then. That's it from the coverage of this game. The Men's Hundred will continue of 24th August 2022 where London Spirit will be taking on Welsh Fire. The first ball will be at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT) but you can join us early for the build-up. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Kane Richardson is adjudged as the Player of the Match for his incredible spell with the ball. He says it is always nice to win. Mentions that this is a tough ground to bowl with small boundaries. Claims that they figured the wicket at the half way stage and there was a bit of pace and bounce so they used to shut out the game. Credits Tom Helm for his outstanding death bowling and says he was incredible with the way the Curran brothers were going. Adds that he should have been the one standing here.  Informs that he was using the dimension of the field and tried to bowl using the longer boundary but says it is difficult with the left and right hand combination. Says that it is massive to get a win at this time of the tournament. Mentions that they will be playing at home with the crowd behind them. Admits that the next two games will be tough as they are against teams above them so they needed to win this and then look forward to those games.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Earlier in the innings, Birmingham Phoenix posted 166 runs on the board, thanks to some hard-hitting from Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone. It could have been worse for Oval Invincibles but they did really well to pull things back in the fag end of the innings. During the chase, Oval Invincibles lacked match-changing stands in the middle and would be a bit disappointed.
Moeen Ali used his bowlers really well and that has gotten them over the line here! It was an under-par target and they did really well to restrict Oval Invincibles at 156 runs here. It was Tom Helm and Kane Richardson who stood out with the ball. They combined for 6 wickets in total with three wickets each. Tom Helm was very economical as he gave away only 11 runs in his set of 20. He has certainly grown throughout this tournament. Benny Howell and Henry Brookes took a wicket apiece.
Chasing 167, Oval Invincibles thought they had the batters in their rank to chase this under-par target but they could not make the most of it. Oval Invincibles were put on the back foot instantly as they lost two wickets inside the Powerplay. Jason Roy also could not make the most of his reprieve and fell out after getting a good start. Later, Cox and Sam Curran stitched a 47-run stand to stable the ship. Tom Curran came in and turned on the heat with his cameo of 12-ball 30. He managed to keep his side in the game but Sam Curran followed suit soon after. In the end, they were unable to take back the two crucial points.
Birmingham Phoenix have managed to hold their nerves and get over the line here. They move to third spot in the points table. Oval Invincibles gave a run for their money but could not take on the bowlers here as much as they would've liked to.

OUT! TAKEN! Benny Howell gets his first wicket but more importantly it is a dot ball. This is a slower ball, full and on off, Matt Milnes waits for it and lofts it towards long off but cannot get desired timing on it. It goes in the air and wide of long off. Kane Richardson there moves to his right and takes a good catch.
Change. Benny Howell is back to bowl the final set. Also, the cut-off time is passed and Ali gets an extra man in the inner circle.
