That’s it from this game then! There is another game to follow and that is a clash between the Knights and the Rocks. That begins at 6 pm IST (12.30 pm GMT). Do join us, till then, goodbye and take care.
Theunis de Bruyn, the skipper of Titans, says that the team has played nicely and they have done their basics well. Tells that they were unhappy with their first game of the tournament and have done extremely well to get where they are at the moment. Mentions that they have an off day and they'll look to rest well and put in a good performance in the semi-final.
Aaron Phangiso is the BOWLER OF THE MATCH. He says that the wicket has been assisting the spinners and he took the advantage of that. Tells that as a bowler one cannot be dependent only on the conditions and one has to study the opposition well. Mentions that it has been a combined team effort and they are now looking forward to the semis.
Heinrich Klaasen is the BATTER OF THE MATCH. He says that it has been a great ride for him in this tournament. Tells that he is happy to contribute for his team and that is his job.
... THE PRESENTATION ...
The bowling for the Titans, like most of their games was excellent. If they did not pick wickets, they were economical. Aaron Phangiso was the pick as he got a wicket and was economical. Overall, they were quite better than the opposition.
The Dragons lost Marshall quickly. Then there was a stand for the second wicket, they needed that to go one for longer but that wasn’t the case. They lost far too many wickets in the middle overs. There was a lot to do for Senuran Muthusamy, he did try but it was an uphill task. In the end, they fell well short.
Quite a convincing win for Titans and that is probably the end of the road for the Dragons in this tournament. This was a must-win game for them but they have performed well below par. We always felt this total was above par and wasn’t going to be an easy chase and that was the case. A lot depends on the Western Province - Dolphins game now which will be played tomorrow.
