Right then, that’s it from this game but the action continues in the Hundred, 2023 as we get to the business end of the season. The Manchester Originals will take on the Southern Brave at Old Trafford in Manchester on Wednesday, the 23rd of August. The Women’s game will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2.00 pm GMT) while the Men’s game will start at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT). But as know, you can always join us early for the build-up. Until then, goodbye and cheers!
Northern Superchargers' Harry Brook is the Hero of the Match for his exceptional century, albeit in a losing cause. He says that it felt good and adds that he was hitting them well. Mentions that he was trying to hit hard and straight. Adds that they knew they had to score a lot of runs to win by a big margin. Hopes that they can bounce back next year. Feels that it is tough to bond quickly in a competition like this. Ends by saying that he just wants to concentrate on the next game whoever he is playing for.
Earlier in the day, Northern Superchargers opted to bat first and made 158 for 7 largely on the back of a terrific hundred from Harry Brook. He made 105* off 42 and single-handedly took his side to a competitive total. None of the other batters went past the 20-run mark. David Willey was the pick of the bowlers for Welsh Fire with 2 for 10 in his spell while Matt Henry, David Payne, Luke Wells, and Roelof van der Merwe chipped in with a wicket each to end an all-around effort with the ball.
Northern Superchargers did not have a huge score to defend and the bowlers were put under pressure right from the start. Adil Rashid and Brydon Carse picked up one each but the rest of the bowlers were taken to the cleaners. They gave too many freebies and did the job easier for Welsh Fire. This loss brings a curtain to the season for Northern Superchargers. They have slipped down to the seventh position and are out of the reckoning for the playoffs.
A pretty convincing in the end for Welsh Fire who win by a massive margin of 8 wickets and move to number 3 in the table. Chasing 159 for the win, Welsh Fire got off to a rollicking start on the back of Stephen Eskinazi who made a quick-fire 58 off 28. The opening duo added 77 for the first wicket and set the base for the chase. Jonny Bairstow struggled early on but found his timing later in the innings and he made 44 off 39. Joe Clarke with 42* off 22 gave the finishing touches and a streaky boundary for Luke Wells did the job for Welsh Fire.

SIX! UP UP AND AWAY! Matthew Potts bowls this in the slot and on middle. Joe Clarke was ready for the ball and muscles this straight over the bowler's head and all the way beyond the fence for a maximum.

OUT! CAUGHT! What a catch and what an amazing display of teamwork. Brydon Carse bowls this short and outside off. Jonny Bairstow pulls it away towards deep mid-wicket. It was going well over the rope for a six if not for a brilliant stop by Harry Brook he catches it and throws it over as he jumps over the line. He catches is again and repeats the same only this time he throws it to his team mate Adam Hose who holds onto it. The umpire checks it and it is a fair catch. Jonny Bairstow has to depart courtesy of some brilliant game sense by Harry Brook.
