Right then, that's all we have from the coverage of this game. With the teams still finding their feet, we are expecting the games to get much more competitive as the tournament progresses. We move to Birmingham on Wednesday, 10th August for the 8th match which will be played between Birmingham Phoenix and Southern Brave. It will begin at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT) but do join us in advance for the build-up. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Dawid Malan wins the MAN OF THE MATCH award for his spectacular knock of 88 runs off 49 deliveries. He says it is good to get the second win. Claims that Hales and he helped each other well. They chose the match ups and says that when they bat like this it gets easy to chase. Says he is disappointed that they allowed the opponents to get to that total but feels that in the end the score was below par and it was easy for them to chase. Ends by saying it is time for some rest as they have a couple of days off.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Earlier in the chase, Northern Superchargers' innings started with a wicket off the very first delivery and that opened the floodgates. They continued to lose wickets at regular intervals which saw them struggling at 68/6. David Wiese's half-century and Roelof van der Merwe brilliant cameo of 30 runs managed to add some impetus to the total but it was still an under-par score which was chased down comfortably by the in-form batting line-up of Trent Rockets.
Northern Superchargers tried various tricks to make the most of the slower deck but hardly bothered the batters at the crease. Faf du Plessis used six of the bowlers but only three returned with a wicket apiece. They could not hunt down early wickets and that took the momentum away from them. There is still a long way to go in this competiton and Northern Superchargers would be eager to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
Trent Rockets were on fire with the blade. Their opening pair of Alex Hales and Dawid Malan started off brilliantly and stitched a solid stand of 86 runs up top. Later, Dawid Malan stayed out till the very end and returned with a match-winning knock of 88 runs. He received great support from Munro but did everything mostly by himself. Trent Rockets are placed second on the points table with two consecutive wins. It was a complete team effort and would be very happy with the way they have started this tournament.
It was a rather one-sided affair in this chase. Trent Rockets were under control throughout the innings and they have extended their winning streak in this competiton to two wins in two. Northern Superchargers could not take early wickets and that took the game away from them.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! The review does the trick for Northern Superchargers. There is an appeal for caught behind! The umpire is unmoved. It is full, wide outside off. Colin Munro tries to chase it but looks like he misses it and hits the ground. John Simpson is certain though that it comes off the blade. Northern Superchargers review it. The UltraEdge shows there is a spike as the ball passes the blade and the umpire has to overturn his decision. Dawid Malan is not happy about the decision as he thinks the bat hit the ground at the same time. Colin Munro trudges back to the dug out.

FOUR! A little bit of luck here but it seems like they have earned it. Dwayne Bravo bowls this full and outside off, Dawid Malan swings and gets an outside edge that falls just beyond the short third man fielder. Runs away to the third man fence for four more.
Dwayne Bravo to bowl another set of 5.
