Right then, that's it from the coverage of this game. Although the action in the Hundred does not end here as Birmingham Phoenix are ready to take on Oval Invincibles and guess what the match is starting at 10,30 pm IST which is rightaway. So do switch tabs and follow the live action. That's it from us. Cheers!
Jamie Overton is the Player of the Match. He says that he feels really pleased to have contributed for the side in a winning cause. Adds that this was a really good performance on the enemy territory. Mentions that taking wickets on a regular basis was crucial in this game once we set that total.
Earlier in the innings, Manchester Originals could not get off to a solid start with the blade, as their openers failed to set a commanding platform, although a late, magicial strike from Jamie Overton made sure that Manchester Originals head back into the break with the momentum on their side. Later, their bowlers turned up to the occasion as well and bowled excellently to get over the line here away from home.
Saif Zaib and Wayne Parnell got off to starts but succumbed under pressure and eventually they ended up leaving a bit too much for their lower order to chase down. Joshua Little chipped in with a couple of wickets for Manchester Originals, while Josh Tongue ended with a single in his kitty. All-in-all it was a brilliant performance with the ball for Manchester Originals.
Northern Superchargers got off to a decent start, as their opening pair stitched a stand of 49 runs, but once this stand was broken, Northern Superchargers struggled to build huge stands, and it was quite evident that their top order certainly could not pick up Usama Mir. The spinner spun his web and took the game away from them single-handedly, as he ended his spell with a four-wicket haul - he got rid of the top four batters.
A positive end to the innings for Northern Superchargers, but it is not enough to push them over the line here. Northern Superchargers suffer consecutive defeats at their home venue. Surely not the way they would've envisioned their home record to be in this campaign. Manchester Originals though would be delighted with this victory, they have gotten back to winning ways now and would be hoping to build on this momentum.
