That's all from this game. But don't go too far away as the next game of Super Saturday between Welsh Fire and Birmingham Phoenix is coming your way shortly, at 10.30 pm IST (5 pm GMT). Do join us then. Cheers!
Manchester Originals will be disappointed with the result. They were on top at the halfway mark after posting their best total in The Hundred courtesy of some great batting from the likes of Jos Buttler, Philip Salt and Laurie Evans. The Originals, however, failed to carry that momentum into their bowling innings. They bowled too many freebies and were sloppy on the field as well. Three losses in a row and they have a big task at hand to revive their fortunes.
Lewis Gregory, the captain of Trent Rockets, says that it was a brilliant game to watch for the neutrals and the manner in which the Rockets crossed the line was special. Tells that Malan is striking the ball nicely and shares that the plan is always about the set batter to finish the job that Malan did. Mentions that his openers have been amazing this season and the intensity with which they bat is superb. Feels that they have a little bit more power in their squad than the last year and they can chase whatever is put in front of them. States that they have a nice balance in the squad. On their fielding, Gregory admits that they were not at their best and they will be looking for a perfect game next time.
Dawid Malan is the Player of the Match for his impressive 98 not out off just 44 balls. The opener says that he enjoyed his knock and tells that it was a lovely pitch to bat on. Mentions that they knew it was all about starting well and they did exactly that. Praises the bowling of Samit Patel and is very happy with the bowling performance of his team. Admits that they were sloppy with their catching. Tells that they know more about The Hundred this time than in the last edition, and they are willing to take more risks. Wants his team to keep the winning momentum and informs us that they have a couple of home games coming up.
Unbelievable! Trent Rockets have pulled off a cracking chase! It was an imposing target in front of them, but they decimated it with minimum fuss. Alex Hales and Dawid Malan were incredible with their opening stand, and then Tom Kohler-Cadmore did superbly to not allow the scoring tempo to go down. His stand with Malan put the chase to bed, and by the time Tom got out, Trent Rockets were within touching distance of the target. With this result, the Rockets have registered a hat-trick of wins and also sent a strong message to other teams.
