Match Abandoned

Commentry
Right then, that is it from another abandoned game where we got to see 80 balls of action but the teams take one point each. However, there is still one more game coming up in the Men's Hundred as Birmingham Phoenix takes on Trent Rockets. That game will start at 10.30 pm IST (5 pm GMT), but you can just switch tabs to enjoy all the build-up to that game. Cheers!
THE MATCH HAS BEEN ABANDONED! Not the news we wanted, but once again rain has won in Manchester! The match was shaping up nicely to be an exciting encounter but we will see no further action as both teams share the points. However, whatever cricket happened here we saw a swashbuckling knock of 62 runs off 36 balls from Jos Buttler. Philip Salt, Max Holden, and Ashton Turner also played some quick-fire cameos as the Manchester Originals were able to play 80 balls and scored 138 runs. The first stoppage came after 35 balls when they were 59-1, but after the resumption, they went hammer and tons for a while, but London Spirit clawed their way back in the game with some exceptional bowling from Ravi Bopara who picked up Buttler and another wicket to restrict the runs flow while Liam Dawson, Matt Critchley, and Daniel Worrall picked up a wicket each. The game was nicely poised with nothing much between the teams, but unfortunately they have suffered the same fate as their Women's teams earlier in the day.
Ravi Bopara is up for a quick chat. He says the outfield is very wet but the wicket is alright. Adds that it is a good score and the pitch is good for batting. Mentions that it took him a couple of years of practice to learn the knuckle ball and he is happy that he got Jos Buttler out with it. Tells that he gained a lot of confidence by seeing other bowlers and baseball pitchers. Says there are some dark clouds hovering at the back and he is not sure how much more this outfield can take here.
Oh no..! There is some drizzle on at the moment and it is getting heavier. The umpires initially had a discussion with Dan Lawrence and were happy to continue, but they have decided to call the players off now. All we can do is wait and hope to see some more action.

There is an appeal for stumping, and the umpire sends it upstairs. UltraEdge shows no bat involved and the replays show that Overton's foot is inside the crease. He survives!
