Join us on 3rd September at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT). But before that, the Women's team will battle for the pole position. Oval Invincibles Women will face Southern Brave Women in the final. That match will start at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Do join us early for the build up as well. Till then, cheers!
Eoin Morgan, the skipper of London Spirit says they lost the match with the bat, they were in a position to post around 165-170.  Adds the Originals went all guns blazing and they were great. Shares that started really well in the tournament and then didn't perform well overall. Manchester Originals deserve to win the final match. Adds that chasing hasn't been their forte and this is the reason they had set the target. Shares that the main reason for early time out was to hold the opposition momentum and try to break their partnership. Says that he does a lot of work with the analyst and tries all the combinations accordingly. Reckons that he is not quite sure about the next season. Ends by saying that he has enjoyed retirement and it has been magnificent.
Laurie Evans is the Player of the Match for his match-winning knock. He says that he enjoyed his batting but would have enjoyed it a lot more if he would have stayed till the end. Mentions that they had to go hard in the Powerplay, as they thought the wicket would get tougher later on. Adds that different guys have stepped up on different occasions. This has been a great group. Says that there is no secret to their success. Ends by saying that Trent Rockets have been amazing, but there will be pressure on them as well. But they will try to enjoy the final and try to cause an upset.
...Presentation coming up...
Earlier, Eoin Morgan made a brave choice to bat first after winning the toss. They score a par total but fell a few runs short. Ben McDermott was key with the bat yet again and Paul Walter was the master with the ball as he took three wickets. In reply, the openers did the job for Manchester Originals and it was a pretty comprehensive win for them. Manchester Originals are all set to play the final now.
It just didn't happen for London Spirit. There was no pressure with the ball and the opposition did most of the damage at the start. They slowly got into the game but till then there was not much left to scratch in this game. It felt like another 10-15 runs could have helped London Spirit to put a competitive total. Eoin Morgan tried his best to shuffle his bowlers and break the opening stand but it just didn't happen for him.
If we can summarise this innings in two half - Manchester Originals were off to a flier, courtesy of Laurie Evans and Philip Salt,  it was Evans who was the aggressor. Around the halfway mark, Manchester Originals were around 100 for no loss. Then came the second half of the innings where both the openers fell in quick succession. A couple of more wickets fell but till then the job was done and it just needed someone to stay there and hit the winning runs. An excellent batting display from Manchester Originals! They have been superb despite losing their key man, Jos Buttler.
MANCHESTER ORIGINALS WILL FACE TRENT ROCKETS IN THE FINAL! Manchester Originals are on a six-game winning streak now. What a final we have in our hands! It was a bit one-sided Eliminator but London Spirit will be proud of themselves. They have done well to come so far in the competition but it was just a bad day at the office.
