That's all we have from this one-sided affair. We move to Leeds on Tuesday, 9th August for the match between Northern Superchargers and Trent Rockets. It will begin at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT) but do join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
Eoin Morgan, the captain of London Spirit, says that win the toss and bat first should be the template here and smiles. Tells that the Originals bowled well in the Powerplay and they tried to hit them as hard as they could. Mentions that they replicated the same with the ball in the Powerplay. Adds that when everyone was struggling to hit the big shots, Kieron Pollard showed his muscle power. He is in awe of Pollard's hitting abilities and says that his value in the group as a leader is also handy. Shares that he has learnt his lessons from the last year as he used to get his bowlers to bowl 10 in one go quite often. Smiles and says that he has learnt his lessons the hard way. Calls the catch of Mason Crane to dismiss Jos Buttler unbelievably good.
Jordan Thompson is the Player of the Match! The pacer says that it was a great night for them, the batters did their job and it was brilliant from them with the ball. Adds that they wanted to keep the batters away from hitting towards the shorter side. Feels that 160 was enough as the pitch was tricky and their variations helped. He praises Kieron Pollard for his knock and adds that his class is brilliant. Hopes to continue with this winning momentum.
Presentation time...
Earlier in the evening, London Spirit fared decently with the bat initially but lost their path in the middle overs. It required the whirlwind knock of Kieron Pollard to power them to 160 and that proved to be the difference. All the London bowlers were brilliant but it's Jordan Thompson who finished with a 4-fer and impressed one and all.
A flop show with the bat for Manchester Originals, and now, they have lost both their games this season so far. They failed to get going in the Powerplay and managed just 22 runs for the loss of Buttler's wicket. The wicket kept tumbling after that, and Philip Salt, despite spending some time in the middle, found it tough to score against the quality bowling of the Spirit.
Thoroughly professional and utterly clinical from London Spirit! They will be very impressed with their overall work in the field. All their bowlers were exceptional, varying their lengths and pace smartly, and proved to be too hot to handle. Eoin Morgan will be delighted that his team managed to perform as per the set template and executed the plans to perfection. Two in two for the team that finished at the bottom last season and it's been an emphatic start to their campaign.

SIX! Battle of the leggies and Parkinson wins it this time. Loopy and full, around off, Matt Parkinson kneels and smokes it over deep mid-wicket for a biggie.
Matt Parkinson is the last man in for Manchester Originals. Mason Crane to bowl the last set.
