That is it from this game! Just two games are remaining in the group stages. On 31st August, first, Northern Superchargers will face Southern Brave and then later, Manchester Originals will take on Oval Invincibles. All the action will start at 7.30 pm IST (2 am GMT). Do join us for the build up as well. Till then, cheers!
Matthew Wade is the Player of the Match for his match winning innings of 81 runs off 42 balls. He says it was an interesting game. Says they needed to chase in 73 balls but the start was not good enough. Adds that Bopara played well. Informs the plan was to target the shorter boundary. Shares that he just tries to be versatile and tries to help his team. Hopes in the next 10-12 months he could play in different positions. Ends by saying he loves the Hundred competition and hope for rain or a tie in the other games.
Eoin Morgan will be unhappy with how his side bowled in the second half of this innings. They were outstanding to begin with. The likes of Jordan Thompson, Liam Dawson and Brad Wheal were really good with the new ball but towards the end, Wheal and Ellis were disappointed. Mason Crane was brilliant but the other two were really disappointed. Morgan will feel this is a game they should have won.
They came out all guns blazing but lost wickets in heaps at the start. At that time, it seemed the game would end in a one-sided manner but Matthew Wade played an absolute gem of a knock. He kept losing partners but held fort at one end. When he was batting the tide shifted completely towards the visitors but once he got out they lost a couple more. There though was still a fight left in the visitors as the last wicket pair batted brilliantly and took their side over the line on the very last ball.
That is a superb victory for Birmingham Phoenix! They have not qualified but will be happy with to end their campaign with a win. They did try their best to chase this down in under 73 balls but could not.

FOUR! Sangha is keeping the hopes alive! A slower, length ball on middle. Sangha goes across and paddles it over short fine leg for a boundary. 6 runs needed in 8 balls. Also, due to slow over rate, London Spirit have to bring one fielder inside the circle.
