Right then, that is it from the game. It was a nail bitter but B-Love Kandy did well in the end to win it. Earlier in the innings we saw some great batting from B Love Kandy with Harris dominating the innings with 81 from 51 deliveries. They posted a mammoth total of 178, courtesy of a great knock from Mohammad Haris. Had it not been for him, B-Love Kandy would have ended up with a much lower total. Nuwan Thushara picked up three wickets for Jaffna Kings whilst Dunith Wellalage and Dilshan Madushanka chipped in with two each.
The Kandy bowlers started off with a bang with Angelo dismissing three of their top order batters within the powerplay. Nuwan came into the attack soon after and dismissed the dangerous looking Lynn and broke the building partnership which put the opposition under pressure. Udana came through with the next wicket which sent Miller back to the pavilion. Nuwan struck again dismissing their skipper Thisara. The bowlers always looked in control of the game and did not allow the batting team to settle down.
What an end to this topsy-turvy game! The momentum of the game swung like a pendulum from one corner to another and in the end it was B-Love Kandy who came out on top! Chasing a score of 179, the Kings started off very slow losing three of their four batters cheaply and early on in the innings. Chris and Malik put forth a steady partnership after the powerplay and eased some pressure off them. Lynn was dismissed right when he was looking in good touch. Miller and Malik also built a good partnership but Miller eventually fell to the bowling of Udana. Thisara was the next to fall and at a very critical stage of the innings. Apart from Mallik no batter could establish themselves on the ground which kept the pressure building.
