That's all there is to the game. The Desert Vipers have advanced to the finals, and the Gulf Giants will face the Eliminator Round winners. The International League T20 action continues on Thursday, 9th of February as MI Emirates will take on the Dubai Capitals at the Eliminator stage at 7.30 pm IST (2.00 pm GMT). Do join us a bit early for the build-up. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Tom Curran is the player of the match for his 29(17) and 4 for 31. He says that it was a big win. Continues by saying that they did well to get to 178 and it was well above par. Adds that they were treating it as a knockout and it went well for them. Closes by saying that he is looking forward to doing well and winning the trophy for the Vipers.
Colin Munro the Skipper of Desert Vipers says that they are happy with the results. Adds that they did some mistakes and will work on those and improve on them in the finals. Says that they have a few days to relax and they will look to win the finals.
James Vince the skipper of Gulf Giants says that the wicket did not play true as we thought. Adds that Rutherford came in and got Vipers to a above par total. Says that they started well but Hasaranga was superb in the middle and pushed us back. Lauds Hetmyer played him well and kept them in the chase. Closes out by saying that they will regroup and look to do well in qualifier 2 and meet the Vipers again on Sunday.
Presentations coming up...
Earlier in the match, Desert Vipers were off to a shaky start after being sent to bat first damp pitch. They were reeling at 33/3 inside 6 overs and needed to get a move on to reach a good total. The pair of Wanindu Hasaranga and Sam Billings provided a much-needed impetus, and later, Sherfane Rutherford and Tom Curran ran a havoc later and took them to a challenging total. Chris Jordan took three wickets whilst Aayan Khan, Carlos Brathwaite, and David Wiese took one each.
Gulf Giants were off to a flying start and were 53 for no loss inside the powerplay. Wanindu Hasaranga got Chris Lynn right after the powerplay. They were unable to string partnerships together after that and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. It was always going to be a stern test for them against a formidable bowling attack. Shimron Hetmyer played a good knock of 36 runs off 21 deliveries.
Colin Munro will be pleased with the disciplined bowling effort from the Desert Vipers. They never let any of the batters settle and kept on striking wickets. Tom Curran picked four wickets, Wanindu Hasaranga took three whilst Luke Wood has two in his kitty. The rest of the bowlers were wicketless but were quite economical.

OUT! GONE! RUN-OUT! All over for the Gulf Giants as Desert Vipers to go through to the final. Full and outside off. Chris Jordan squeezes it to the deep point region and sets off for a second. The fielder throws to the keeper's end who sees the non-striker struggling to make it and gives it to Sheldon Cottrell at the bowler's end who whips the bails off as the batter falls short of his crease. Desert Vipers win by 19 runs and storm their way into the FINALS.
