For the Kings, they struggled with the bat to put up a big score. Asalanka got his fifty but at a crawling pace, no one from the middle order made a contribution and ended with what turned out to be a really low score. It needed one opening stand from Dambulla Aura to chase it down. Avishka Fernando scored a quick fire fifty and then Perera showed his aggressive skills to finish things off. A one-sided affair to be said.
A comfortable win for the Auras and they are off the mark this season. This was a better performance from them than their previous game, and that too in all three departments. The job was done with the ball though as Dambulla Aura restricted the Kings for a below-par score. Kusal Mendis shuffled his bowlers really well and they all made some kind if contribution to keep the lid on the run score.
