That is it from this game then! Two games coming your way on Wednesday! The action begins at 1500 IST (0930 GMT). The build-up begins a lot earlier though. Till then, goodbye and take care!
Wanindu Hasaranga says he is pleased with the win and adds he is very happy with the hat-trick and that is what leg spinners can do. Informs he was trying to bowl on the stumps and just keep it simple. Ends by saying he is enjoying the role of captain and he likes the responsibility.
Angelo Mathews says they were poor in the field and it was one of the worst displays in the field. Adds there are no excuses and they were under par. Also says he is giving his level best, trying to stay fit and he is doing whatever the team needs him to do.
Man of the Match, Andre Fletcher says he is going to celebrate this win, that is what they spoke about in the meeting, they wanted to begin with a win and they did do so. States it was difficullt to begin with, he tried to take the attack to the bowlers but as the game went on, it got easier and he rode his luck. Adds Pathum Nissanka also played well. States he felt it was a 140 wicket but they did not want to take things for granted and just play nicely and do well in the game.
... PRESENTATION TIME ...
For Kandy Falcons it was a complete performance. First it was Fletcher's ton who set things up as he along with Nissanka helped his side to get to 199. Then their bowlers came to the fore. All the bowlers who bowled did a brilliant job but Wanindu Hasaranga was the pick with a four-fer and not to forget, he had a hat-trick in that. They totally outplayed their opposition.
That is a huge, huge win for Kandy Falcons! 200 was never going to be an easy chase and Colombo Stars lost wickets in heaps at the start. They were three down in the Powerplay and just never recovered after it. No player crossed the 30-run mark and that is not what a team needs when they are chasing such a huge total.
