The Player of the Match is Tabraiz Shamsi. Speaking about his celebration he informed that it's a gesture of phone call to the third umpire to know if it's out or not. Adds that he has finally found his rhythm in this tournament and now he is very excited and prepared for the matches to come. He also says that a lot of his success is because of Lahiru Kumara as he has been giving the team the early breakthroughs.

The winning captain of Galle Titans, Dasun Shanaka says that he is very happy with his team to have qualified second and he hopes that this kind of cricket is taken forward in the tournament. He also talks about Lahiru Kumara that he has been exceptional because of a slight change in his wrist position that is getting him the results in these conditions. He also added that now there is another step to be taken with the team he has and that is winning the first qualifier and going to the finals.

Chamika Karunaratne (skipper of Colombo Strikers) says that from the start apart from winning the toss nothing went their way. Adds that they failed to target a bowler and lost too many wickets in the middle which cost them this game. Mentions that 130 to 140 would have been challenging on this track. Closes by saying that this edition of the tournament has been a big boost for everyone with such a good number of crowds coming in on a regular basis and ends by wishing luck to everyone still alive in the tournament.

Earlier in the day Colombo Strikers batted first and put on a hazardous batting display as they could only manage to score 74 runs and could not even bat for 20 overs. No batter was able to get a grip of things and they kept on losing wickets in a cluster. Only 4 players were able to touch double figures while the rest all departed in single digits. The bowling on the other hand was spot on and ruthless as once they got a grip of the game they just did not let it go and bowled Colombo Strikers for a really low total that was chased down easily. Tabraiz Shamsi was the pick of the bowlers as he took 4 wickets and gave away just 20 runs. He was well complimented by Seekkuge Prasanna who took 3 wickets while Lahiru Kumara scalped a couple too. Shakib Al Hasan chipped in with a wicket as well.

While defending such a score the bowlers were never in a contest but the bowlers did try their level best to make a game out of it. Iftikhar Ahmed and Jeffrey Vandersay took a wicket each and tried to make a contest out of this but the target was too low for them to defend.

Chasing down a low total Galle Titans had a lot more hiccups than expected as they lost a couple of wickets early on in the powerplay with just 19 on the board. It was then for Lasith Croospulle and Shakib Al Hasan to see the team home with a partnership of 56 runs in no time. Lasith Croospulle was superb with the bat as he scored 42 in just 25 runs and played a vital role in chasing this low score down.
