Faf du Plessis is up for a quick chat. He says they needed to win this game. Adds they lost three on a bounce and needed that momentum change. Shares they plan according to the ground dimensions. Says Ali is a quality player but slower ball works for him. Tells wickets help to get the team back into the game. Applauds Willey's performance. Appreciates Wiese's all-around performance as well. Mentions that Bravo does what he does best. Says they let themselves down due to fielding. They lost die to small margins and need to take chances against good players.
David Wiese is the Player of the Match for his all-round performance. He says that they got a good start today and it's all about confidence. Adds that the openers have been giving a good start. Says that they believed in themselves and worked hard for it. Ends by saying that their hard work paid off and they need to go with the same momentum.
Earlier, Adam Lyth at the start and David Wiese quick cameo at the backend helped Northern Superchargers post a competitive score. Adam Hose too played a really mature innings. While on the bowling side in the first innings, Moeen Ali and Kane Richardson ended with a couple of wickets. At one stage it looked like the Phoenix will chase it down but their big-hitters failed to make an impact and it turned out to be a one sided affair. All the bowlers of Northern Superchargers ended with a wicket atleast.
It looked like a par score but Birmingham Phoenix failed to even get near to the target. This match showed that when the likes of Liam Livingstone, Matthew Wade and Moeen Ali failed to score, it gets pretty hard for the Phoenix to chase the target. Birmingham Phoenix got a good start but lose the plot suddenly and the required run rate kept on increasing. Benjamin, Howell and Helm showed some glimpse but failed to take the game till the deep.
A good outing with the ball for Northern Superchargers. They were coming against a fiery batting line-up but the bowlers were right on the money from the start. Although they got some hammering early on, they kept bowling to the plan and got their rewards. David Wiese showed his all-round skills as he first delivered with the bat and then with the ball with three wickets. The other bowlers also chipped in with wickets as well. A brilliant performance from Northern Superchargers.
An exceptional bowling performance from Northern Superchargers. After three consecutive losses, they finally find a way to get two crucial points. While it is absolutely opposite for Birmingham Phoenix who lose their match after three consecutive wins.
