Right then, that is all we have from this Super Sunday. Manchester Originals were brilliant in this game and the action will continue on Monday, 29th of August. It will be Rockets going up against Fire. The Women's game will start at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT). While the men will take the field on 11.30 pm IST (6 pm GMT). Our build-up for both these games begins in advance. So do join us for the same. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Moeen Ali, the skipper of Birmingham Phoenix says that they were soft throughout the game and that is why they came second best. He says that they need to improve the batting and be a little smarter. Adds that it is amazing to play in this ground and the crowd is great and supports all the time. Mentions that he himself also did not get it right in this game and they will have a chat about it as a team. Ends by saying they will look to come back stronger.
Laurie Evans, the skipper of Manchester Originals says that this a huge win. He says they thought it was a little bit under par but it turned out to be winning score. Praises Hartley for his bowling and says that he bowls all the hard overs and take the responsibility. He also says that they were not happy with the Salt dismissal and they had to calm down him a little bit.  Adds that he is loving the captaincy and it has come around at a time when he has played a lot of cricket and says he is loving the challenge. He ends by saying that it is Sunday Night in Birmingham and what could go wrong (laughs). Adds they are enjoying the Hundred and is excited to face Oval Invincibles in the next game and it will be winner takes all in that game.
Tom Hartley is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says that it was nice wicket to bowl on. Tells that Sophie Ecclestone was good at the pace she bowled, and did very well in her match which gave him a bit more confidence. Adds that they have picked up the pace and are on the winning ways and hopes it goes their way in future as well.
Presentation time...
Birmingham Phoenix would be pretty disappointed with their effort. They gave away way too many runs at the death after Benny Howell bowled a brilliant spell for them. They do had the batting line-up though to chase this total down but apart from Will Smeed everyone else struggled on this sticky wicket. They lost both Will Smeed and Chris Benjamin in quick succession when they were going quite well and never recovered after that.  They need to apply themselves better in the future if the pitches continue to get difficult for the batters.
Manchester Originals have played like a team in the last few games and this was another classic team effort from them. With the bat, they got over 150 on a pitch that was not at all easy to bat courtesy of a fifty by Salt and handy cameos by Turner and Tom Lammonby in the end. With that score on the board, they took the momentum into the second half and Tom Hartley set the tone with the ball with two early wickets. All the bowlers then bowled tight lines and used their variations perfectly to put the lid on the scoring rate. They, then reaped the rewards of tight bowling in the end as Phoenix crumbled while trying to up the ante. Tom Hartley finished with four wickets and overall it has been a great performance by Manchester Originals.
Manchester Originals have pulled of a dominating win here! They have won four in a row now and this win has taken them to the third position in the points table. The home team, on the other hand, would like to forget this game as quickly as possible as they have been folded out for the lowest total in the history of the Men's Hundred.

OUT! CAUGHT! It's all over! Josh Little gets the last man and Manchester Originals WIN BY 79 RUNS. This is full and on middle, Kane Richardson tries to heave it over the deep mid-wicket fence, but cannot get the required power and hits it high in the air, Tom Lammonby there settles under it and completes a nice catch. Manchester Originals are pumped and there are high-fives all around. A great victory for them.
