Man of the Match
Nasum Ahmed
Commentry
That is it from this match! Mahmudullah's troops go 1-0 up in the series after an emphatic win. The two sides will again meet on 4th August, Wednesday for the second T20I. The match will start at 1800 local (1200GMT). But the build-up will begin much in advance. Do join us for that. Till then, tada!
Nasum Ahmed is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his match-winning figures of 4-0-19-4.
The Bangladesh captain, Mahmudullah, is up for a chat - He says that they were 10-15 runs short. Adds that they executed their plans well. Adds that there needs to be an attacking mindset defending a low total and that's what they did. Mentions that hunger needs to be there in the tank to get a victory and adds that he is focusing on the game tomorrow.
The Australian skipper, Matthew Wade is up for a chat - He says that the bowlers did a terrific job and 132 was certainly getable. Adds that when they lost three wickets early on, they tried to rebuild the innings but weren't able to. Says he's disappointed that they got bowled out for such a low total. Mentions that he knew that Bangladesh were going to attack us with spin and when our bowlers gave us a chance for getting 132, our batters should  have chased it. Mentions that the wickets in West Indies spun a lot more and here the ball skidded on and they came to Bangladesh confident but just didn't execute their plans well.
Australia were in all sorts of trouble at the start! Alex Carey was sent back to the pavilion on the first ball off the innings. Josh Phillipe and Moises Henriques also followed him and Australia found themselves at 11/3. Repair work had to be done after that. Mitchell Marsh and the skipper, Matthew Wade then took the responsibility on their shoulders. The rescue job however failed as Wade's struggle came to an end. Marsh then stood like a rock alone but in the end, ran out of patience as he was undone on 45. After that, there was no sting in the Australian tail as they got bundled out for 108! A straightforward chase turned out to be a pretty frustrating one for the Australians.
Mahmudullah and his tigers have pulled of a famous victory! Their first over Australia in a T20I match! Mahedi Hasan provided Bangladesh the dream start as he removed Carey off his first ball. Nasum Ahmed and Shakib Al Hasan also joined the party and chipped in with a wicket each. Australia were put on the back foot right away and they struggled to keep the scoreboard ticking. Nasum Ahmed got the better of Wade as he scalped him in his comeback spell and then went on to pick up four wickets including the big fish, Mitchell Marsh. Bangladesh were relentless with the ball and Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam cleaned up the Australian tail as they picked up a couple of wickets each to bundle Australia out for 108!

OUT! TIMBER! Mustafizur Rahman finishes things off! A sharp incoming delivery on off, Mitchell Starc looks to drive but is completely beaten. The ball goes through his bat and dislodges the off stump. Australia are bundled out for 108 and BANGLADESH WIN BY 23 RUNS! What a moment for them!

OUT! CAUGHT! Just one more wicket remaining now. Back of a length, slower and on middle, Adam Zampa had to go for the big shot and he did as he tried to pull this one over the mid-wicket fence but only managed to find the fielder in the deep. Bangladesh can almost taste victory now!
