Madrid Open: Rafael Nadal nailed Dominic Thiem for the fifth title
Rafael Nadal won the fifth title of Madrid Open after beating Dominic Thiem 7-6 (10-8) 6-4. Meanwhile, he joins the top 4 group of WTA.
The third title in a row for the Spanish lad, first Barcelona Open, later Monte Carlo Masters victories and now the Madrid open belongs to the Rafael Nadal.

Nadal edged the Austrian in the tie-break of a tense first set that lasted one hour and 18 minutes.
He broke Dominic Thiem, No 7, early in the second set to set up the win.

It was a very exciting game.It was a very important final for both of us, for him as it was the first in the Masters 1000, and for me it’s always special to play here in Madrid, in this unique tournament.”
