President Donald Trump has told ex-students of the US Coast Guard College that no other representative has been treated more dishonestly by the media. But he says, ‘you cannot let them grow you down.’
‘Look at the way I’ve preserved lately, especially by the media,’ he said. ‘No representative in history, and I say this with great surety, has treated worse or more dishonorable.’
Trump was offering his advice at the college’s origination in Connecticut, telling the alumnae. They will find that ‘things are not constantly fair’. But, he added, ‘you have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight.’
The president says they can’t let the critics grow in the way of their dreams.
Trump was talking amid reports that he fascinated to then FBI Director James Comey to shut down the bureau’s investigation.
He made no indication of Comey in his speech. A small but upward number of Republican US lawmakers have called for an autonomous probe of possible collusion among President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia, invited by a memo from Comey that Trump had wanted to impede the agency’s investigation.
The commotion in Washington extended on Tuesday over assertions Trump had hunted to end the FBI’s investigation into ties between Trump’s first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, and Russia.
Comey, whose firing as FBI director last week generated a political hellhole. He wrote a memo detailing Trump’s comments to him in February. By saying ‘I hope you can let this go,’ referring to the Flynn probe, affording to a source who has seen a note written by Comey.
The Comey note caused terror on Capitol Peak and raised questions about whether Trump attempted to restrict with a national investigation. The White House deprived of the report, saying it was ‘not an honest or accurate portrayal of the discussion between the president and Mr. Comey.’
