The pension should base on the expenses of pensioners rather than the present indices the pension is based on. Longevity Forum chair Everald Compton was talking with media about pension. He has called for a free body to be established to set the pension rate.
According to the latest news updates he claims an actual pensioner deserves to be living above the poverty line. And it has to be very respectable and nice to be a pensioner. Everald was worried about pension.
He further outlined a plan to impose a pension asset test on those with homes worth more $2 million. According to the detail Mr. Everald said the pension should based on the expenses of pensioners.
He further added that government could give them a home equity government loan which paid to them in installments. Like a part pension. So they could stay there.
But they are regularly giving up the equity above 2 million. He said all this. Mr. Everald outlined a plan to impose a pension asset test. And both main parties have steered away from including the family home in an assets test for the pension.
So the governments are running away from this. Because they think that they will lose elections over it. But now we are coming to the point where the government is coming to the edge of bankruptcy, otherwise we handle the big issues. He further said this.
