Federal director of the Liberal Party Tony Nutt resigns

Federal director of the Liberal Party Tony Nutt has resigned and handed in his resignation to Malcolm Turnbull.

Mr. Nutt said it has been a countless privilege to work for the Liberal Party over various years and with literally thousands of supporters, office bearers, and members.

There is no better servant to the Liberal Party in my time sixteen years in politics and that of my husband Brian Loughnane who held that work for 4 elections earlier to Tony Nutt, Peta Credlin said.

Prime Minister Turnbull issued a statement praising Mr. Tony Nutt’s over 35 years in the public service.

Further, Prime Minister said in a statement that on behalf of the Liberal Party and the Government I thank Mr. Tony Nutt for his great service to the Liberal Party and to the country in over 35 years of public service.

Prime Minister further said I look ahead to the next chapter of his extraordinary career of public service.

Ms. Credlin said Prime Minister’s remarks may show a nonstop career in the public service and may recommend a nomination in the public service is to come.

Mr. Tony Nutt took over the executive post of the Liberal Party in late 2015.

It’s uncertain who will be the front competitor to capture the role.

However, the statement comes as the Federal Council of the Liberal Party gets ready to talk over the Rob Review into the election defeat from the previous year.

Ms. Credlin said I suspect that will be a difficult analysis if I know Andrew Rob as coalition minister. But also a previous federal director, he was after John Howard’s victory in 1996.

It will be an analysis that appearances totally under every issue and every rock and I think that Mr. Tony Nutt is looking onward for the decent of the Party to have somebody follow him.
